Leading maritime and commercial safety training provider, Fire Aid has announced a milestone of delivering over 500 emergency preparedness training courses to the maritime and corporate sectors, since its move to its Hythe headquarters in 2015.

The 29 year old family-owned business, which is based in Hythe, adjacent to the port of Southampton (UK), delivers safety solutions to individuals and businesses across the world.

Delivering all aspects of personnel training to both the maritime and other specialist industrial/commercial sectors, Fire Aid works with a range of customers, including; cruise line operators, ship yards, superyachts, as well as the likes of paper manufacturers and corporates.

Fire Aid’s training either meets or exceeds the requirements of the IMO (International Maritime Organization), MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency), and other leading industries bodies.

The move to Fire Aid’s new premises in 2015 placed it directly within the heart of the Solent’s bouyant maritime hub, Southampton, on the Hythe Marine Park.

STCW Basic Safety Training (BST) Training is a prerequisite emergency preparedness course for anyone working on board any vessel over 24 metres. This MCA-approved course covers Personal Survival Techniques, Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting, Elementary First Aid and Personal Safety & Social Responsibility.

Stuart Dawson, Captain of the 47-metre superyacht, M/Y Nerissa which is currently cruising the Mediterranean with its crew of 11, first attended his emergency preparedness training at Fire Aid’s dedicated UK training academy seven years ago. He has subsequently returned for both his refresher training together with numerous others including; Survival Craft and Rescue Boat, Leadership and Personal Survival courses, all provided by Fire Aid Academy.

Stuart comments, “Having first attended my first Fire Aid course in 2011, I now send all my crew to them, as well as recommend them to everyone requiring training, as Fire Aid’s prices are rarely beaten, even when factoring in a flight from the Mediterranean.

He continues, “Fire Aid’s exceptional levels of training, plus their constant willingness to accommodate, along with their unrivalled efficiency, keeps me coming back again and again. I am also constantly impressed by Fire Aid constantly striving to improve what is already an excellent academy. My crew and I will definitely return again soon.”

Fire Aid’s Managing Director, Chris Rowley, comments, “We are very proud to achieve this training milestone, which reflects the dedication that the team at Fire Aid has placed into this important business area. We are delighted that Fire Aid is now the preferred supplier to many industry leading names.”

In celebration of the milestone, Fire Aid is offering a Winter Incentive of up to £80 off course fees, to any company or individual who books a STCW BST course for 2018 and 2019 which is held at the UK Fire Aid Academy in Southampton, in November and December 2018 with code STMIL18.
