Dry Dock Health & Safety Supervisors Wanted for Temporary Short Term Contracts

Fire Aid International are currently recruiting DRY DOCK HEALTH & SAFETY SUPERVISORS & ASSISTANT HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICERS for ongoing contracts around the world.

Fire Aid international are a leading provider of Health, Safety, Fire Safety and Environmental consultancy services around the world to the maritime industry. For the last 30 years we have been providing support to Dry Docks, Ship Owners, Ship Managers & Ship Yards. We pride ourselves on the quality of our workforce and are constantly looking to recruit and retain new personnel for deployments around the globe.

At present we are specifically looking for qualified and competent Health & Safety Supervisors and Assistant Health & Safety Officers for a new project in France. Although experience is preferred and priority will be given to those with experience, it is not an essential requirement as full training will be given.

The two respective roles include (but are not limited to) the following responsibilities:

  • First point of contact for all Health, Safety & Fire Safety matters during Dry Dock operations
  • Carry out risk assessments and continuously consider how risks can be reduced on the Dry Dock
  • Carry out regular inspections where hot work and high risk procedures are taking place
  • Ensure all working practices are carried out in a safe and legal manner and comply with legislation
  • Keeping records of incidents, accidents, inspections and testing
  • Provide training to new team members and other safety staff onsite when required
  • Overseeing confined space operations and ensuring correct protocol is being followed  by contractors
  • Regular gas testing for atmospheric hazards
  • Ensuring all contractors are wearing the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Overseeing and posting the Fire Watch personnel when required
  • Driving duties to pick up and drop off team before and after shifts
