Fire Aid’s MD, Chris Rowley began his career as an engineer, and then went on to become a fire fighter. During his time in the UK Fire Brigade, where he was in active service, Chris was offered an external role to manage industrial firefighting teams for a national organisation.
Working across multiple sites and numerous teams across the UK gave Chris in-depth business management knowledge, where he was then appointed the organisation’s Head of Health and Safety and Risk Assessment.
Setting up Fire Aid in 1991 alongside his father, Simon, Chris continued to develop his experience and training skills across safety training and emergency preparedness auditing and consultancy. During this time, Chris became renowned as a leading Fire Consultant to businesses and organisations across the UK.
Chris and the Fire Aid team have continued to develop the business’ offerings over the years, which included an increasing focus in the maritime sector. This was as a result of both Chris and his father’s passion for the sector, combined Fire Aid securing numerous global cruise line and ship operators’ training contracts.
Chris is now regarded as one of the world’s leading authorities in maritime emergency preparedness instruction and also remains a leading authority, expert witness, Safety Auditor and Fire Consultant to the general UK industry in general, including papermills and other high-risk operations.
