Terry Ash, one of Fire Aid’s team of Training Instructors, has worked at Fire Aid since 2011.

Following 32 years in the Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service, where he was in active duty, Terry initially heard of Fire Aid through a friend who already worked as a trainer for the business. A few months later, Terry was trained up to Fire Aid’s exacting standards, ready to commence providing Training Instruction directly.

Based out of Fire Aid’s Southampton purpose-built training academy which boasts five training rooms as well as a lifeboat, Terry teaches STCW Courses. Modules include firefighting awareness, sea survival and first aid. Terry also instructs ships crews onboard their vessels, conducting assessments and training.

He says “Fire Aid is very friendly and the training is to a very high standard. It may not be the biggest academy however it is often regarded as the best. I am truly proud to work with Fire Aid.”

As an avid long distance runner, Terry has competed in marathons and half-marathons and is always on the look-out for further ways to challenge himself.
